One of Mid-South Synergy’s primary responsibilities is to provide safe, reliable electricity to its members. Keeping our lines clear of trees is necessary to deliver better quality service to you. Our employees and contractors are sent out on a planned, rotating schedule to clear trees and brush from our distribution right-of-ways.
Your cooperation will help us in our efforts to prevent tree-related outages and keep right-of-way maintenance costs down. Here are a few friendly reminders to keep in mind:
- Do not store items in right-of-way areas, even for short periods. Right-of- ways must be kept unobstructed at all times to allow access for trimming, maintenance and repair crews. Personal property in right-of-way areas should be moved.
- When planting trees or shrubs, keep in mind the shape and size the species will reach at maturity. Select sites far enough from right-of-way areas to ensure that future growth will not interfere with power lines. A utility friendly tree is one that is not planted inside the right-of-way.
- Keep landscaping elements out of designated right-of-ways.
- Report dead, weak or damaged trees near power lines to Mid-South Synergy promptly so we can remove them before they cause an outage.
